Our Story

Quality and design.

When Bob Farris and Barry Welch started Spencer Mill Woodworks in 2001, they knew quality and design were fundamental to creating timeless pieces of cabinetry.

After all these years, their foundation for success has proven itself again and again. But quality and design aren’t the end of the story. At Spencer Mill, we build on that foundation with a commitment to reliability, timeliness, and unrivaled service.

We’re not a high-volume, mass production kind of company. We’re just not built that way—and neither are our cabinets.

Commitment to Craftsmanship

If something is worth doing, it’s worth doing right. Here’s what that means for a Spencer Mill cabinet:

Real Wood

If you come to visit our shop, you won’t find any particle board, press-board, or hot glue. Just real, solid wood—the way it should be.

Hand Craftsmanship

All products are cut, sanded, assembled, and finished by hand. We don’t use automated equipment in any step, ensuring the highest quality throughout the process.

Final Inspection

We inspect each and every product before installation to ensure they meet our standards. In other words, we never install anything we wouldn’t be proud to have in our own home.

The Owners

Barry Welch leads our sales and design division with a passion for seeing the customer’s vision come to life. The level of attention and care he gives customers combines with his keen design eye to turn their ideas into plans into beautiful cabinetry.

Bob Farris leads operations and production here at Spencer Mill, overseeing the highest quality hand-built cabinetry in the region. His hands-on, no-nonsense approach sets the tone for our high standards at every step from manufacturing to installation. And the pride he takes delivering excellence in each project sets him apart every day.
